Hawthorne

Incorporated in 1922, Hawthorne has been dubbed "Hub of the South Bay" because it has quick and easy access to Southern California offerings such as culture, sports, entertainment, the and it is only four miles from the Pacific Ocean!

In the aerospace era, the city grew from a small, largely rural community to a well-rounded mixture of business, industrial, and residential life. More than half the area in the city is residential with twice as many apartments as single-family homes. There are two libraries and a half dozen parks in the city as well.

Served by three school districts: the Hawthorne Elementary District, Centinela Valley District and Wiseburn Elementary District- percentiles rank from 40 to 90.

Downtown Los Angeles is about 25 miles away. Hawthorne is adjacent to the light rail systems- which get you to downtown Los Angeles, LAX and Long Beach quickly.
